Pedro Pascal is the newly crowned king of the people! The Gladiator II actor is a strong and vocal LGBTQ+ ally. He never hesitates to use his platform to show his support and attack critics. However, with the rise of conservatism, Pascal is chanting even louder, particularly for the trans community, and doesn’t mind losing fans for the cause.
Earlier this week, the Chilean actor ruffled feathers by dedicating a post to the transgender community. On Instagram, he shared an image of a poster that reads, “A world without trans people has never existed and never will.” It is unsure exactly what inspired Pascal’s post, but it wasted no time ruffling feathers. A throng of fans began threatening to unfollow Pascal. “You were my favorite actor…. I’m unfollowing you… bulls**t,” slammed one user. While The Last of Us actor typically takes the high road, he decided to return the energy for the trolls using his sense of humor. To the fan above, he replied, “Nooooooooooooo” with the iconic nail paint emoji.
Another angry fan penned, “Man, you were one of my favourite actors until this,” to which Pascal wrote back, “That’s too bad. Wait, no, I don’t give a s**t.” A third comment that read, “That’s going to be an unfollow,” received a “later, gator” response from the actor. In a final blow to the haters, Pedro Pascal posted a separate comment that read:
“I can’t think of anything more vile and small and pathetic than terrorizing the smallest, most vulnerable community of people who want nothing from you, except the right to exist.”
Despite the trolls, Pascal received more support from fans who praised him for clapping back and supporting the trans community.
“He’s not a green flag. He’s a green forest,” gushed one fan.
“Also, his username is pascalispunk. What were those dweebs expecting??” said this user about the clapback.
“KING S**T,” a third fan praised, to which another responded, “For real. This is what i wanna see from men in powerful places.”
Pedro Pascal Has A ‘Lethal’ Protective Side For the Trans Community
It comes as no surprise that Pascal feels so strongly about the LGBTQ+ community. He often speaks about his close bond with his sister, Lux Pascal, who is trans. In a 2023 interview with Esquire, he talked about his adoration and respect for Lux, who is 17 years younger.
“I wouldn’t want to speak on her behalf, but she is and has always been one of the most powerful people and personalities I’ve ever known. My protective side is lethal, but I need her more than she needs me.”
Lux came out in 2021 via an interview with a Chilean magazine, and Pascal proudly championed her coming out. He shared the article on Instagram with the caption, “Mi hermana, mi corazón, nuestra Lux.” It translates to “my sister, my heart, our Lux.” Before coming out as transgender, Lux identified as non-binary. However, she says navigating the world as a woman is simpler for her.
