A man in Greenville, South Carolina, was recorded harassing a parkgoer, calling him “queer” and asking if he had “jumped the border” to be there. Thousands are calling this a homophobic and racist meltdown, and the victim is trying to identify the man in question.
Video footage of the interaction was shared on TikTok by the victim, George Zbornak. According to him, he was sitting in a park and recording a soccer game where his niece was playing. Suddenly, he was approached by a bald man.
“You better pick up their [expletive] water bottles before they leave,” the South Carolina man said, according to George. This is what allegedly triggered the heated argument between the two men, with George asking the man to “chill out,” while the man insisted with the bottles. At one point, he is heard telling George, “You queer.”
After hearing the homophobic slur, George told the man that he worked at a lawyer’s office and asked him if he wanted to get sued. The bald man responded, “Yeah, can you do it? You queer? You suck a bunch of [expletive]?”
“They’ll find you online, you’ll go viral on Facebook,” George told the man. The unnamed man then flipped him off while walking away.
Border Comment, Reactions
After finishing another lap around the soccer field, the South Carolina man returned to continue harassing George. He clapped back by telling him he was “fat and bald.” At one point, the man is heard asking George if he had “jumped” or “crossed the border” to get to Greenville. He told him he was a US citizen, adding, “You’re getting sued, and you’re going viral, fatty.”
George’s clip garnered more than 32,000 likes and 2,500 comments. Calling him “Steve Wilkos,” given his resemblance to the TV personality, users bashed the man for his verbal attack on someone who was minding his own business.
“How do people develop such hate?” one user asked. Another one said, “This is what Trump has done to our country.” A third netizen added, “People usually accuse you of what they are actually guilty of. He told on himself.”
While many have thrown around some names, the man shown in the clip has yet to be identified. By the looks of it, he is in for some exemplary cancellation.
