One of the big changes in the Grounded Shroom and Doom update is the addition of Mushroom Bricks. This sturdy base building material can be used to create a variety of base walls, doors, and supports. Mushroom bricks are also an essential ingredient in the construction of a Pet House, which you’ll need if you want to take care of the pets you tame on your journey through the backyard. While mushrooms are now more abundant than ever, making bricks does take a little bit more know-how. Here is how to make Mushroom Bricks in Grounded.

Before we even touch a mushroom there are a couple of things that need to be taken care of. First, you will need both a Grinder and an Oven. You can craft a Grinder after analyzing a Flower Petal or Acorn Shell to get the recipe.

The recipe for the Oven can be unlocked by obtaining the BURG.L Chip from the Haze Lab. This lab is located in the Haze biome which sits in the southwest region of the map. Make sure you craft a Gas Mask before embarking on this journey! Once you have gotten the chip, return it to BURG.L and purchase the Advanced Production Buildings upgrade. You will now be able to craft the Grinder and Oven, the recipes for which are as follows:

Grinder

  • Weed Stems x2
  • Acorn Shells x2
  • Flower Petals x3
  • Red Ant Parts x15

Oven

  • Clay x10
  • EverChar Coal Chunk x4
  • Boiling Glands x4

Once you have made both an Oven and a Grinder you are ready to make your Mushroom Bricks. The recipe for Mushroom Bricks is unlocked by analyzing a Mushroom Slurry, another addition in the Shroom and Doom update to Grounded. This involves feeding Mushroom Chunks or Mushrooms into your newly-acquired Grinder.

From there you will need to place the Slurries into the oven and let them cook. Five Slurries are needed for each Mushroom Brick batch, so make sure you harvest plenty if you have a big building project in mind. There is no additional recipe necessary for the bricks themselves and the Oven will complete the final step to get you Mushroom Bricks. Have fun building your mushroom castle!
