Grounded Where to Find Pinecone Pieces
This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

The Pinecones Piece is an Uncommon Natural Material in Grounded used to create a variety of advanced weaponry, such as the Tick Macuahuitl and Black Ox Crossbow. It is also used for crafting the Fresh Storage unit, a refrigerator-like container that ensures food does not spoil for an extended period of time. This technology advancement is substantial for survivors, as it allows the storage of perishable food items and removes the need for constant foraging. Accordingly, knowing where to find Pinecones Pieces is a must if players are looking to acquire the Fresh Storage or craft endgame weapons in Grounded.

Finding Pinecone Piece Locations In Grounded

To find Pinecone Pieces in Grounded, survivors must search the Upper Grasslands, the northeastern section of the yard’s map. Several pinecones can be found lying about this biome. However, players must be careful when venturing through the Upper Grasslands, as its hostile residents will aggressively attack any intruders.

Pinecone Pieces cannot be collected from pinecones unless harvested using a Tier-3 tool known as the Black Ox Hammer. As its name implies, the Black Ox Hammer is crafted using parts from the Black Ox Beetle, a powerful and deadly insect found in the Shed Surroundings. According to the Grounded Wiki, these beetles are the tankiest enemies in the entire yard, thanks to their naturally armored exoskeleton. However, this creature is weak to Busting damage and will reveal its weak Gut spot if players manage to flip it over. Of course, this feat is easier said than done, as survivors will need their best weapons and armor to take a Black Ox Beetle down in Grounded.

Nevertheless, once Grounded fans defeat a Black Ox Beetle and obtain its parts, they craft a Black Ox Hammer using the following materials: Black Ox Horn ×1, Black Ox Part ×5, and Pupa Leather ×2. Pupa Leather is an item refined from Pupa Hide, a resource harvested from Pupa nodes found in the Shed Surroundings biome. After crafting the hammer, players can return to the Upper Grasslands and collect Pinecone Pieces in Grounded. Here is a brief list of items that need Pinecone Pieces, including the number of pieces required for each:

  • Tick Macuahuitl ×1
  • Black Ox Crossbow ×2
  • Mint Staff ×5
  • Sour Staff ×5
  • Spicy Staff ×5
  • Fresh Storage ×5

Grounded is available for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PS4.
