We all know that crime can happen anywhere in our country, and unfortunately, sometimes we end up as victims. However, there are also many ways to identify the culprits who wrong us. To give you an example, in Austin, Texas, one person was the victim of grand theft auto, but instead of providing blurry footage or questionable photos, they actually captured the criminals in almost 4K resolution. But that’s not the kicker. The thieves are among the most recognizable culprits in the state because one of them was wearing Hello Kitty pajamas.
The victim of this crime shared the pictures on the Austin, Texas subreddit. They mention that their 2017 BMW X3 was stolen from their apartment complex. Fortunately, they captured the culprits on video, which is where the images come from.
As you can see, the two individuals are dressed in highly recognizable outfits, mainly the woman wearing Hello Kitty PJs and what appears to be a Halloween handbag of sorts. The male individual, on the other hand, was wearing a hoodie with a black beanie. A bit sneaker, yet also easy to recognize.
Still, if the outfit isn’t enough, the truth is that these images are crystal clear, which might be the first time in the country’s history that we see pictures of such high quality, at least when it comes to recording culprits. Yet some people believe the victim might have enhanced the images with AI, as some details look a bit off, such as the Hello Kitty print.
In any case, while the OP shared the images hoping to find the thieves, people instead focused on the colorful thieves and their outfits, claiming it would be extremely easy to find them, especially inside a stolen vehicle.
“Not the Hello Kitty PJ pants.” – LieutenantLT via Reddit.
Since many still thought the pictures had AI enhancements, they recommended that the OP share the originals, as AI often changes people’s faces, which might also lead authorities to look for the wrong people.
“You should post the originals and not the AI-enhanced versions. It’s highly likely that the woman and the man you posted don’t really look very much like those photos, because AI will just hallucinate what it thinks they should look like.” – Mrminty via Reddit.
So far, it is uncertain whether the authorities have found the vehicle or the culprits. Hopefully, these pictures will help the police department quickly find the thieves.
