If youโve been following the news, youโve heard about the tragic mass shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church in Minnesota. Instead of gun reform laws and real change, conservative lawmakers and politicians have been pretty quiet on the matter. A week after the shooting took place during a church service, Vice President J.D. Vance visited the church where it all happened. He thought he would pay his respects, but instead was booed and shouted at on his way out.
The footage was captured by Fox News and the video was posted on r/PublicFreakout, captioned โProtest as JD Vance leaves Annunciation Church.โ While visiting the church where two children were killed and 21 others were injured, Iโm sure he wasnโt expecting a major protest. But when you play stupid games, you win stupid prizes. Outside the church, you can hear a man yelling into a loudspeaker, โHey hey, ho ho, the NRA has got to go!โ as other protestors hold up gun reform signs. Some of the signs read โWe can end gun violenceโ and โCommon sense gun laws.โ
The commotion suddenly swells as you see a Presidential vehicle carrying J.D. Vance pass by the protestors. No doubt the vice president heard the protestors, but will do nothing about it. In fact, Vice President Vanceโs tactic is to send thoughts and prayers instead. After all, those have helped exactly zero kids!
Gun reform laws are obviously important if America wants fewer shootings, especially when they involve children. Not to mention a robust healthcare system that can offer mental help as well. Both President Trump and Vice President Vance have opposed gun reform at every turn, and itโs obvious these protestors have had enough. All of America has had enough.
In fact, one protestor even shouted, โGet out of my city,โ as J.D. Vance and his guards passed by. When you decide to show up for thoughts and prayers after yet another school shooting in America, it just doesnโt seem genuine, does it? A good vice president would’ve spent time with protestors, gotten to the heart of the issue, and done something about it.
