McKayla Maroney turned her bookstore visit into an Instagram post in March 2022 as she shared photos to her Glowy by McKayla wellness account. The 28-year-old posed amid rows of shelved books as she delivered another mental health message for her followers, this time talking about “personal growth.”
While Maroney is best known for her appearances at the London 2012 Olympics, the Gold Medal winner has been climbing in the celebrity wellness space. Her Glowy feed talks physical and mental health, often focusing on a specific area such as gut health or acne. Looking cute in her tight shorts and baseball cap, the California-born gymnast gained plenty of fan love, possibly also educating a fair few.

Ditching her leotards and minidresses for a sporty daywear look, McKayla showed off her toned legs in a skintight black pair of workout shorts. Sticking to all-black as she rocked a matching, cropped sweater, the brunette completed her look with a baseball cap and sneakers, posing with a huge pile of books in her hand as she stood on green-carpeted floors.
It doesn’t look like the visit was just a photo op, though. In the next photo, Maroney was seen at the Personal Growth section of the store, with her finger pointed toward New York Times best-selling author John Bishop’s Love Unf*cked book.
Further photos showed McKayla strolling around the bookstore as she carried the books she was purchasing, with one shot even showing her in shades.
Dropping Tips On ‘Personal Growth’
“Spending a lot of time in the area of Personal Growth lately. I’ve always loved this ile, but I just wana learn more, so I can help you guys more!!!🥰📈📚!! It’s been really fulfilling working on Glowy, so thank you to everyone following. I love you a lot,” she began, adding:
“Also, there’s truly nothing like a Barnes & Noble adventure. Why is the smell of this place so comforting and nostalgic? Seriously what addictive scent are they pumping through this place?? I don’t want to leave.” Maroney added hashtags of #selfhelp and #personalgrowth.
McKayla has documented her own mental health troubles publicly and candidly after both suffering from an eating disorder while competing and being a victim of jailed physician Larry Nassar’s abuse. The star is now into balance and wellness as she shares her tips on social media, although her leggy looks on Instagram invariably prove the most popular.
