Olivia Dunne showed loyalty, determination, and team spirit as she told her Instagram followers she was “nowhere near Dunne” with competing this week, but she only wound up tormented by fans. In a video showing mash-up footage of her gymnast skillset, the 21-year-old shouted out her LSU Tigers team and gymnastics overall, with the post revealing that she will be staying at Louisiana State University for a fifth year.
While fans didn’t complain about the blonde’s skimpy leotard showoffs and impressive displays of flexibility, they twisted her post with mentions of her celebrity status and NIL rule overturn profits. Olivia is now earning seven figures from her endorsement deals as she continues her reign as the most-followed NCAA athlete.
Olivia Dunne Shows Off Flexibility On Instagram
Fresh from her April national title win with the Tigers, Olivia opened her video with a preview shot of herself in a sheer white leotard and holding up an NCAA trophy.
Sitting down on an indoor couch as she rocked a tank top and shorts in subsequent footage, Olivia added a little mystery as she opened up a piece of paper, with the footage then switching to throwback moments of her competing as a child. Just prior to the child footage, a voice had asked Olivia what she had “to say.”
Up-to-date footage, meanwhile, showed the Plantfuel ambassador flipping around and delivering jaw-dropping poses while in her shimmery, glitter-embellished LSU leotard.
Bullying Comments Trying To Bring Her Down
In an emotional reveal, Olivia said:
“These past four years have changed my life. There is something about putting on a purple and gold leotard,” adding:
“And no matter how many opportunities come my way off the mat, there’s just something about LSU. And that’s why I’m here to say, I’m not done yet.”
While fans left over 160,000 likes, users still upvoted comments seemingly set to tear Olivia down. “Translation: “I’m not good enough to be in the Olympics but, I still want to make millions with my NIL deal and be a 5th year senior” was one such comment. Another user, meanwhile, replied: “Lol she knows the paychecks stop once she graduates. Let’s be real.”
Olivia may have to put up with mocking remarks, but she’s having the last laugh. Earlier this year, the New Jersey native signed with lifestyle brand Nautica. She has already fronted brands including Vuori Clothing, Forever 21, American Eagle, Pro Plan, Plantfuel, and Accelerator energy drinks.
Olivia boasts over 5 million fans on Instagram. Her TikTok fanbase, meanwhile, sits even higher at 8 million. Testimony to her celebrity status was her recent invite to Michael Rubin’s Fourth of July “White Party,” also attended by stars including Kim Kardashian and Megan Fox.
