Olivia Dunne is facing backlash on Instagram as she delivers a jaw-dropping backflip while earning herself some endorsement cash. The LSU gymnast, 22, is fresh from a new promotional post, one plugging boxer Jake Paul’s new W skincare line.
Weaving in a display of her staggering flexibility as she casually backflipped down a Walmart aisle this week, Olivia reminded her 5 million+ followers of her gymnast skillset, but her followers felt that something was off. As comments poured in, users repeatedly alleged that the video had been edited, with a popular reply even mocking Olivia for not having “hired” a video editor. Olivia, who occasionally claps back on IG, does not appear to have addressed the backlash. Despite this, her post still proved popular, earning her over 150,000 likes.
Olivia Dunne Highlights Gymnast Skillset On Instagram
Delivering another flawless move from the health and beauty aisle of a Walmart store, Olivia highlighted her incredible physique in a skintight, gray pair of leggings.
Flaunting her toned legs, the New Jersey native added a form-fitting white tank top, with both parts of her outfit bearing the W logo. Picking up a yellow can of W product as she wore her hair down and addressed her fans, Olivia said: “Hey, watch this!”
Footage then swung to Olivia delivering multiple backflips after throwing the can high in the air. Amazingly, she caught it, but fans weren’t convinced. In a caption, the mega-influencer wrote: “You probably smell… get W in the naturals isle at Walmart;) @itscalledw @jakepaul.”
Getting Told The Editing Is Terrible
Over 400 fans have now liked a comment reading: “You still see the edit of the can lmfao,” with another popular remark calling the video the “lowest budget commercial I’ve seen in a while.”
Elsewhere, users suggested that someone had been busy with an editing wand. Throwing in a laughing emoji at the end of their reply, one fan wrote: “Spent all their money on Livvy and didn’t hire a video editor.”
Olivia is likely paying little attention to criticism on her social media as her profile continues to explode. Following her first major brand deal with Vuori Clothing in 2021, the star rose to front an array of companies, and her earnings are now in the seven figures. In 2024, Olivia is the face of Dick’s Sporting Goods, Aveeno skincare, Accelerator energy drinks, and Purina Pro Plan among other brands.
That said, she hasn’t given up on her love of gymnastics, making summer headlines for promising a return to LSU for a fifth year. Dunne is also followed by over 8 million on TikTok.
