The snap captured his lover cradling the newborn on a hospital bed while he hunched over to touch the baby. The couple named their daughter Aurora Raina Urker, a unique name that honored their close bond. Blanchard shared the story in an interview last December, noting they chose the name during her incarceration. She spent years in prison for her part in the murder of her mother and met her boyfriend then.
While engaged and dreaming of a future together, the pair came up with names for their unborn child. “Both of us have a fascination with the Northern Lights, and the proper term is the Aurora Borealis,” Blanchard recalled. She claimed they coincidentally chose Aurora while writing down the name of their future child.
