As expected, Hades 2 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting releases of 2024, as the game will put players in the shoes of the Princess of the Underworld and Zagreus’ younger sister Melinoë in her mission to kill Chronos, the Titan of Time. But when will we be able to join her in her mission? Here’s when Hades 2 will be released in Early Access.
Hades 2 Early Access Release Date
Hades 2 is expected to be released on Early Access in the second fiscal quarter of 2024. The quarter began in April and is set to end on June 30, 2024. The Early Access version of the game will only be available for PC, via Steam and the Epic Games Store. If you are like me and can feel Chronos making sure time passes slowly, the game’s Technical Test debuted on April 16, 2023.
How to Sign Up for the Technical Test
You can sign up for the Technical Test of Hades 2 by heading to the game’s page on Steam and then clicking on Request Access. After doing so, you will be notified by email if you are selected. Be mindful that only a short number of players will be selected to join. You can also be called weeks after signing up, so keep your eyes open.
As pointed out by Greg Kasavin, the game’s creative director, in a Livestream focused on the test (which you can see above), the reason behind its debut is to ensure everything will be running smoothly on Early Access. Your Technical Test data won’t transfer to the game once Early Access debuts. According to Supergiant Games, the test is expected to last longer than a week but less than a month.
Will Hades 2 be Released For Consoles?
Supergiant Games revealed in the game’s FAC that there are plans to also bring Hades 2 to consoles and Mac devices after Early Access. Although the consoles were not specified, it’s safe to assume that the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series S/X are among them.
While you wait for its sequel, you can play Hades on pretty much all platforms. The game is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, Mac, and Nintendo Switch.
