Black Ops 6 is shattering all types of records to pieces, harvesting all the good that’s needed for a classic Call of Duty comeback. And after reaching the goal of the biggest Call of Duty release ever, Black Ops 6 is now played by almost half the Xbox Series and 1/3 of the PS5 players across the US!
It’s been almost two weeks after the Black Ops 6 release, and sources are measuring the depth of its success from the launch week. From stealing the spotlight from CS2 on Steam sales, Treyarch Studios’ latest Call of Duty game has been housing half of the US Xbox Series player population.
As reported by Charlie Intel, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has been the #1 game based on the active user player count on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles at launch week. Accordingly, 47% of all Xbox players on Series S|X consoles have been playing Black Ops 6 in the past week, while this number varies to 31% for the PS5 active users.
On PC, however, Call of Duty has retained the #4 spot for the most active players ranking list, standing behind Deadlock, Helldivers II, and Counter-Strike 2. Now if you look closely at the chart, Call of Duty has been on the #27 spot a week prior to the Black Ops 6 release. Not to mention that the free-to-play Warzone update with BO6 content integration is set to launch on November 14, 2024. So in many ways, this is one huge success for team Call of Duty, which is about to get even more significant with Warzone later this month.
Another look here at the Steam global top seller’s chart better reflects this success by showing Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on the #1 spot, climbing 9 ranks to reach this milestone.
