Universal Pictures releases the official trailer for Halloween Kills, the sequel to the 2018 Halloween by David Gordon Green. The sequel stars Jamie Lee Curtis and James Jude Courtney and will be a continuation of the first film in the franchise.
The Halloween Kills trailer shows Laurie Strode and her family escaping Michael Myers from a burning house. While the firefighters try to extinguish the fire, Michel Myers kills them ruthlessly, leaving the trail of bodies in his wake.
Michael Myers became a very famous name in the 70s with the release of the original Halloween movie by John Carpenter. The sequels of the movie, however, were not received as well as the first, until James Jude Courtney revived the franchise in 2018. Before the release of the 2018 film, Danny McBride the writer, confirmed that he and Green had originally intended to pitch two films that would be shot back-to-back, and then decided against it, waiting to see the reaction to the first film. The sequel’s title was announced in July 2019, along with its sequel. Principal photography commenced in September 2019 in Wilmington, North Carolina.
The cast and the crew who have worked on this movie have repeatedly said that the movie is not for the faint-hearted. The Halloween Kills trailer shows the brutal world of Michael Myers. It is filled with gory images and perfectly sums up the ruthless character. It’s clear with the trailer that the movie will explore Michael Myers’s backstory and why he is doing the things he does. It will also show characters from the previous movie having a bigger role in the sequel. It looks like David Gordon Green has not strayed from the original Halloween story and has kept the spirit of John Carpenter’s vision for the character, alive.
Halloween Kills is scheduled to be released in the United States on October 15, 2021, by Universal Pictures. A direct sequel, Halloween Ends, is scheduled to be released on October 14, 2022.
