In case you’re one of the few that are unaware, 343 Industries has been going through a massive project over the past few months. They’ve been trying to port every game on the Master Chief Collection to PC, and so far have been successful. We had the original launch of Halo: Reach to PC, followed by Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary and Halo 2 Anniversary. Today, the team is proud to announce the release date for the next game in the bundle. Halo 3, the iconic Halo that lives in so many people’s hearts, will be playable one week from today on July 14th. Needless to say, the community is excited and so are we.

Halo 3 marks the end of the original Halo trilogy, spearheaded by the team at Bungie. It follows the story of the Master Chief and the Arbiter on the quest to finally stop the Covenant. The Covenant seeks to activate the sacred Halo rings, bringing about the Great Journey that they’ve prophesied. In the end, the rings will put an end to all life in the galaxy. It’s up to you to stop the Prophet of Truth from activating them, and finally, bring peace to a war-torn galaxy. Halo 3 will be available for $9.99 on Steam, the Microsoft Store, or Xbox Game Pass for PC.

The PC edition of Halo 3 is easily the best way to experience the end to the epic saga. It makes numerous improvements upon the Xbox 360 original, sporting higher quality textures and 60 frames per second (or above). There are also many more customization options including a FOV slider for those who like that. Given the game’s infamy, this is a title you don’t want to miss.

Halo 3

Regardless, we’d love to hear your thoughts on the matter. Are you excited for Halo 3 to finally come to PC? If you played it when it came out or since then, what did you think of it? Let us know, and stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
