If you’ve been in the loop with gaming rumors over the past few days, then the idea of Halo Infinite’s multiplayer releasing today should’ve seemed all but confirmed. With so many in the community saying it would happen, and several data mines pointing to it, the secret release wasn’t so secretive. And to very few people’s surprise, that’s exactly what seems to have happened. During the Xbox 20th anniversary stream today, the team at 343 Industries has revealed that Halo Infinite’s multiplayer component is now available on PC and Xbox platforms! You can check out the first trailer for its first season below!

Season 1 of Halo Infinite multiplayer is titled “Heroes of Reach”, bringing with it the beta for the game, several maps, and modes. You have many training courses alongside a bot-only mode, standard 4v4 matches, and of course, the classic Big Team Battle. With plenty to unlock and customize, it goes without saying that you’ll have your hands full.

As you play, your spartan will feel like your own, being a new soldier learning the ropes of combat. As the Steam page graciously puts it:

Become a Spartan that’s uniquely your own with a rich and deep player customization system. Earn and discover new cosmetic items simply by playing campaign or multiplayer. Or to obtain even more cosmetic rewards, purchase a Battle Pass that never expires and unlock new content at your own pace.”

Speaking of customization, the team promises some great customization on PC with “ultrawide/super ultrawide support and triple-key binds to features like dynamic scaling and variable framerates”. As a PC player myself, the keybinds and variable framerates are more than welcome.

If you wish to try the beta for yourself, Halo Infinite’s multiplayer can be found on the Xbox Store, Xbox app on PC, or the official Steam page.
