You never know what you’ll encounter in parking lots these days, and a person from Long Beach, California had the displeasure of running into a rather vehement racist. As threatening as he might appear, however, the racist didn’t have the duds to back up his bark as he was wearing flip-flop sandals and shorts, and his supposed victim mustered up the courage to smack him.
The incident was captured in first-person by victim and TikTok user @user88628844081112 who at the moment, doesn’t want to identify themselves. The video starts off presumably after the racist man called the TikTok user the N-word with a “hard-r” in a Yard House parking lot in Long Beach, after which the victim started filming. The TikTok user was so frustrated that they chased the racist man around, trying to confront them for the hate crime.
It didn’t take long for the racist to repeat what he said to the TikTok user and all it took was one smack from the victim’s bag. Hence, the racist man was caught repeatedly calling a black person the N-word. The confrontation ended up in a physical altercation where the racist man even grabbed the TikTok user’s bag after exchanging a few smacks. Here’s the clip:
Thankfully, the altercation didn’t last and it appears injuries were minimal and the video simply cuts to the racist man walking away. It appears the TikTok user failed to identify the Long Beach parking lot racist, though his face is visible, as was his attire, which was something that caught the attention of online viewers.
Wrong Place, Wrong Clothes?
Plenty of criticisms were thrown around as to how the two Long Beach civilians handled the confrontation, but there was no denying that the man in flip-flop sandals was indeed racist given how he casually threw out the derogatory slurs. Funny enough, plenty of comments allude to how the guy was barely intimidating.
Other people have advised the TikTok user to call the cops on the racist though their response is that the police won’t do anything about it, perhaps based on their experience as they stated in the video. Of course, being an inherently political confrontation, people online have started associating the flip-flop-wearing racist man’s brazen attitude with the current political climate in the US. Still, someone needs to inform the man that proper attire for such an ideal should be observed.
