If what you fancy is something on the unique side, chances are you gravitate towards indie games. They’re lower budget and smaller in scale, but often benefit from uniqueness and refinement as a result. It’s great to see indie games such as Fall Guys and ScourgeBringer get the attention they deserve since they bring a lot to the table. One such indie game though is Hardspace: Shipbreaker, a first-person ship salvaging game that’s been out for some time. It’s Halloween update, titled Haunted Frontier, is now available on PC through Steam. You can check out the spooky update trailer below.

Hardspace: Shipbreaker - The Haunted Frontier Update Trailer

Haunted Frontier brings something much scarier to the world of Hardspace: Shipbreaker. Ghost ships have begun showing up around the world, giving shipbreakers like you a difficult time. These ships are empty vessels, abandoned and drifting through space for reasons unknown. You may be here to grab ship parts, but there’s a much deeper mystery to uncover in Hardspace: Shipbreaker. Not only that but the ship’s AI isn’t the most friendly. Any ship you salvage could potentially be a ghost ship, so you’ll have to tread more carefully before entering its empty interior. What mysteries will you uncover? How difficult is the AI? What kind of parts will you salvage? That’s up to you to find out.

This isn’t all coming with Hardspace: Shipbreaker’s newest update though. Stickers are being added, allowing you to showcase your achievements while shipbreaking, and giving you something new to show off. To get these stickers, you’ll have to complete tasks and lifetime goals, which you can then use the stickers earned to show off your prowess. This of course joins various bug fixes and improvements, raising the quality of the title.

It’s a spooky time for players of Hardspace: Shipbreaker, and should be intriguing for those who dare venture. Will you be looking for ghost ships to salvage? Excited to display your various shipbreaking feats? Let me know in the comments below!
