New England is no stranger to protests and clashes between the liberal establishment and a growing conservative presence in every state. Connecticut has always led the forefront on this, as the small rural areas are typically very Republican strong, while the sprawling cities go the other way. Well, liberals in Hartford, Connecticut, decided to demonstrate the holiday spirit by mocking ICE, as their presence in New England has been an unpopular one amongst those who oppose their tactics. At the same time, some conservatives took it upon themselves to mock the mild highway protest.
A post shared in the Connecticut Reddit thread by a user named Frisky_Pickles showcases a protest sign created by the Visibility Brigade, a group centered on public demonstrations exactly like this, where hitting the highways almost guarantees that everyone gets a view of the protest, whether they believe in it or not. As you can imagine, the comments had a few things to say about the latest protest thrown in ICE’s direction.
“I agree. Public works was salting the roads this morning to try to melt the ice.”
“A lot of things suck today because some dimwits thought giving the felon…. conman, game show host a second chance, with less oversight and a pass to do pretty much anything despite its legality.”

“You can be in favor of the message and still be curious how someone is putting these up everyday. I’ve been around long enough to know that someone is funding this and someone is getting paid to do it.”

The work of the Visibility Brigade in Hartford isn’t going to stop anytime soon, whether people like the messages or not. ICE makes it easy to label them as the Grinch who stole your neighbors, while others think they are doing great work getting rid of illegals and criminals across Connecticut.
