Former Nashville star Hayden Panettiere has been forced to return to rehab after a concerned family member arrived at her home to check on her. The visit came just days after a recent interview in which the actress’s appearance and behavior sparked grave concerns for her well-being.
Sources close to Hayden Panettiere tell In Touch that a worried family member traveled to Los Angeles to seek help for Hayden. While there, they also removed Panettiere’s boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, from her home.
Brian and Hayden have engaged in a turbulent relationship for several years. The troubling relationship has remained on and off since 2019. He was also recently arrested for felony domestic violence against Panettiere.
Hayden has battled addiction issues in the past, and following her recent People interview, there was an apparent cause for alarm. During the interview, Hayden Panettiere struggled while speaking, slurring her words and appearing unable to keep her eyes open. The interview can be viewed on the publication’s Instagram page. Fans immediately began to voice their concerns for her well-being.
One fan commented, “She needs help. It’s so sad to see her struggling.”
Another adds, “Why would her rep let her do an interview in that condition?”
The actress responded to the interview backlash and concerns on her Instagram page. Many felt Hayden was seemingly annoyed by the accusations concerning her sobriety and quickly attempted to explain her actions.
Hayden Panettiere Undergoes Home Intervention
In a long post to her followers, Hayden attempted to make several excuses for appearing seemingly off during the interview. She wrote, “It’s unfathomable that I’m even in this position, but I feel forced to address it in a space where I won’t be criticized for how fast or slow I speak.” At the time, she blamed exhaustion for her apparent out-of-sorts behavior.
The insider states that the family member conducted an in-home intervention on October 6. They add that Hayden was admitted into rehab soon after. The People interview disturbed many of those close to Panettiere, who soon blasted the publication, demanding that the video be removed from their Instagram page.
Despite the demands, the Hayden Panettiere video remains. The actress admitted in 2022 that she had been struggling with an opioid and alcohol addiction.
Like her character Juliette Barnes on the hit series Nashville, Hayden openly admitted her struggles. “I was on top of the world, and I ruined it. I’d think I hit rock bottom. But then there’s that trap door that opens,” she recalled about her addiction. She adds that becoming sober hadn’t “been easy, and there were a lot of ups and downs.”
Hayden Panettiere’s followers were relieved to hear that the actress has returned to rehab and continue to wish her the best.
