The Mindy Kaling-created series The Sex Lives of College Girls has been renewed for Season 2. The renewal has come just before the final two episodes of Season 1 this Thursday. The HBO Max teen comedy-drama series revolves around four college freshman roommates (played by Pauline Chalamet, Amrit Kaur, Reneé Rapp, and Alyah Chanelle Scott). They attend the esteemed Essex College. Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble created the series. Justin Noble is the showrunner for The Sex Lives of College Girls.
He co-wrote the first episode of the series and executive produced it with Howard Howard Klein. The HBO Max teen comedy-drama has gotten many positive reviews and currently holds a 96% Rotten Tomatoes score. The WarnerMedia streaming service reported the series had the biggest launch of an HBO Max original comedy series on the streaming service this year. Kaling International produces the series, in association with Warner Bros. Television.
Mindy Kaling Has Another Hit with the HBO Max Series
Kaling scored her big break came when she portrayed Kelly Kapoor on NBC’s The Office. She also served as a writer, director, and producer for the series. Her next big endeavor was the Fox comedy series The Mindy Project. Mindy Kaling then created the short-lived NBC sitcom Champions and the Hulu miniseries Four Weddings and a Funeral. She is now on Season 2 of the Netflix series Never Have I Ever. Mindy Kaling has a six-year WBTV deal, where she’ll executive produce the animated Scooby-Doo series Velma. She’ll voice the titular role as well.
