Being kind to people has become lost in our society, especially with the way the country bombards us with aggressive situations meant to divide us. However, there are cases where people still show that being nice doesn’t hurt and that kindness is something we should practice more often. To give you an example, a senior woman in Texas wedged her vehicle on a curb outside of a Jack in the Box while driving. Instead of people recording her to make fun of her or antagonize her, one driver decided to help her without judging her.
The video comes from the Transportopia subreddit, and it shows a senior woman getting her vehicle stuck outside a Jack in the Box in Texas. The one filming, instead of judging her, mocking her, or worse, approached her and asked, “You want me to try to reverse it?” He then told the woman to put the vehicle in park, and he hopped inside it to help her.
At this time, the senior citizen thanked the kindhearted driver as he got the vehicle out of the wedged situation and parked it so the woman could continue driving normally. The lady then got back into her vehicle and left the scene.
While this is certainly a wholesome situation that didn’t lead to an accident or something worse, the video gathered mixed reactions from Redditors. On one side, you had several users praising the man who stopped to help.
“He didn’t have to stop,” said one user.
“That’s a good dude,” said another user.
On the other hand, many people were concerned about this senior driver, as she could endanger others while driving.
“This is nice, but now I am worried about her,” said one Redditor.
“Wonderful kindness shown by that man, but literally call the cops and show them this video,” commented another Redditor.
In the end, it’s difficult to take sides, but this is a concerning situation. While this senior only hit the curb now, things could have taken a different turn. Fortunately, nothing of the sort happened, and she was lucky to meet someone nice enough to help her. Still, we can’t count on always having kindhearted souls around to help seniors who are behind the wheel.
