While most people treat their pets as family members, there are those who do not share the same sentiment. It’s an unfortunate fact that many pets are found abandoned on the streets after their owners lose interest in them. One of these poor souls was a dog in Arizona whose owner abandoned it on the side of the road. Luckily, this heartless act was caught on camera by Joanna Buesen.
In the video, you can see a red SUV appear and then make a U-turn before promptly opening the door. Then, a hand shoves out a small dog with a black and white coat. It’s clear the pet thought it was going out for a walk and was very happy.
However, things took a dark turn as the person inside the car said, “Bye-bye,” before slamming the door shut. The dog quickly noticed and tried to follow the car. Unfortunately, the vehicle was too fast, and it was soon left behind. Some tense moments passed before the dog appeared again on camera, walking listlessly.
Buesen, who caught this event, didn’t leave the dog alone. According to her, a neighbor took in the pet before Animal Control in Arizona arrived to take care of it. She also added that law enforcement was aware of the situation and was investigating it.
In an interview with Arizona Family, Buesen condemned the owner’s action, calling it malicious. “I understand things are hard, and things can be tough in life, but you don’t have to be a soulless human. And that is just a soulless thing,” Buesen told Arizona Family.
A Cruel Act
The video has been shared across various social media platforms, drawing attention from many people. Numerous people criticized the unknown owner’s actions. “What is wrong with people?” one Facebook user asked. Others hoped that the dog would find a new home soon and get a better owner who would love it.
One X user said that this was a common occurrence, mentioning that they had even adopted an abandoned dog. “I know others who have, too. There’s nothing wrong with these animals. Dogs just need a secure home, and people should seriously consider that commitment before taking one home,” they said.
Some hoped that the unknown Arizona resident would receive a heavy punishment, possibly even jail. Unfortunately, there has not yet been any major update regarding this case. Considering the attention this case has received, we only need to wait for law enforcement to track down the culprit.
