The way that so many conservatives are reacting to the loss of SNAP benefits across America is disturbing. It’s even more distressing and concerning when it comes from a nurse. You’d expect the best kind of people are attracted to that line of work, but now this Alabama nurse the internet caught wind of. When she shared a cruel video on TikTok, the internet did what it did best and found out the ‘anonymous’ person.
TikToker Lastarr57 shared the now-deleted video, posted by TikToker Sassytnc, immortizing what could best be described as an ‘oopsie’ and gave her opinion. Tina—that’s Sassytnc—pretends to cry and says, “My baby has not eaten in two hours. That is why I’m on my way to my second job tonight. Because it is my responsibility to make sure that he eats. Not the US Taxpayers,” then reveals a dog (and a cute one, at that). With another cry she says, “I am responsible for keeping him fed and clothed.”
At the end of Tina’s manufactured and hateful crash-out, Starr calls her out. Starr reveals she found out her name and that Tina worked at a hospital in Alabama. She even learned Tina is an RN—a registered nurse—and states it’s Starr’s duty to call her out. According to Starr, Tina is okay “with children suffering,” and it’s hard to see otherwise. Someone who equates feeding children to feeding a dog just falls on the ears wrong.
Starr, like many others who’ve reposted Tina’s video, noticed she’d forgotten to turn her hospital ID around. The internet did its sleuthing, like it does, and left nasty Google reviews for Tina’s alleged workplace.
“I hope people stay clear away from this hospital if it has nurses there who mock those who will go hungry. If this is how they treat people going hungry, imagine how they treat you when you’re LITERALLY DYING,” one scathing review read. Others called for Tina, by name, to be fired. It’s unclear whether this has affected her job, but her TikTok is now private, and the original video has been deleted.
As Starr says, Tina is a nurse who works with many patients who likely receive SNAP benefits. She says, “I would never want someone like you to be working in the healthcare field that had to ever deal with someone who unfortunately needed those benefits,” Starr says, referring to SNAP. As Starr points out, Tina likely works with many patients who receive said benefits. Would someone then not fear their being mistreated if Tina were carrying for them?
“The amount of teachers and healthcare workers that align with those views is terrifying,” one commenter said. You genuinely don’t know anyone, and it’s scary that somebody you’re conditioned to trust could be holding that over your head. Why become a registered nurse if not for the love of the game?
