Senuaโ€™s Saga: Hellblade 2 will receive its first-ever physical release this summer, coinciding with the gameโ€™s newly announced PlayStation 5 port. The boxed edition will be published by Limited Run Games, as confirmed by a new listing from the ESRB.

Originally released digitally for Xbox Series X|S and PC back in 2023, Hellblade 2 launched as a download-only title priced at $49.99. A new ESRB entry now lists physical formats for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles, with Limited Run Games attached as the publisher for both versions.

Senuaโ€™s Saga: Hellblade II Comes to PlayStation 5 This Summer

Known for publishing limited-run physical editions of digital titles, Limited Run typically focuses on indie or mid-sized games. The company was acquired in 2022 by Embracer Group via its Freemode subsidiary. Alongside Hellblade 2, a separate ESRB listing suggests Limited Run is also preparing a physical release of the original Hellblade: Senuaโ€™s Sacrifice for Nintendo Switch.

The PlayStation 5 version of Senuaโ€™s Saga: Hellblade 2 will include new features designed to leverage the platformโ€™s capabilities. According to a PlayStation Store listing, the game will be optimized for PlayStation 5 and enhanced for PS5 Pro, with support for “immersive haptic feedback” through the DualSense controller. These enhancements will also arrive on Xbox Series and PC as part of a free patch on the same day.

Hellblade 2 continues the story of Senua in a narrative-driven action experience that builds on the critically acclaimed foundation of its predecessor. The PS5 version is expected to launch later this summer, with no concrete release date having been announced so far. In our review of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, we gave it a 9/10 and called it “a journey like no other. It is an immersive story-driven adventure that captivates you throughout its playtime, and even after, you can’t stop thinking about it.” The only shortcomings are some pacing issues, glitches, and bare-bones combat.
