Nicki Minaj and her husband Kenneth Petty face a petition to have them removed from their Hidden Hills neighborhood, owing to concerns about Kenneth’s past records. The couple purchased their $19.5 million eight-bedroom, nine-bathroom estate in the Hidden Hills area of San Fernando Valley in December 2022. They have since enjoyed the serenity of their nearly 12,000 square-foot home, away from the bustle of Los Angeles.
However, their serenity seems to come at the expense of the neighbors’ peace of mind. According to TMZ, some of the neighbors have expressed safety concerns, citing Kenneth’s past prison record and existing label as a sex offender. In that light, they launched a petition, demanding that the couple be ejected from their elite neighborhood.
Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Unwelcome in Hidden Hills
The petition, which has gained traction online, has racked up over eight hundred signatures, championed by resident Beverly Barden. Barden believes the presence of Nicki Minaj and her husband in Hidden Hills could cause the value of properties to plummet, even posing safety concerns. Hence, she called on other residents to sign the petition to show their unwillingness to have sex offenders infiltrate their neighborhood. Barden has also been vocal in encouraging neighbors to warn others about Kenneth’s history. They dubbed the petition, “Say No to Sex Offenders in Hidden Hills.”
Notably, the fuss stems from Nicki’s husband’s conviction for a 1995 rape case. Having served over four years in prison for the sex offense, Kenneth was mandated to register as a sex offender and declare his address after relocating to any state. However, the father of one, who has insisted on his innocence, failed to register after relocating to California to be with Nicki Minaj. This earned him one year of home detention, which he is currently serving.
Kenneth Petty recently filed legal documents to change his address to that of their new Hidden Hills mansion, as the law mandates. The move to do right by the law this time seems to have backfired though, earning him the wrath, judgment, and condemnation of neighbors instead.
