You’d likely envisage a children’s trip to a petting zoo would be filled with warm fuzzy feelings of wholesome joy. And, typically, that would ring true as youngsters usually love the opportunity to connect with wildlife and nature, right? However, that was far from the case when children visiting a petting zoo recently were left screaming due to an overenthusiastic emu. Yes, you read that right.
Specifically, a video from TikTok user domonique3 has revealed an emu running laps around a group of kids during a children’s wildlife field trip, and the youngsters are not exactly filled with happiness. In fact, the kids in question get increasingly more upset by the overzealous flightless bird. Making the clip even more hilarious is the fact that the parents and other nearby animals seem to be both equally amused as they are shocked by what’s happening around them, too.
As said clip has now gone viral, the comments section is overflowing with humorous observations and remarks about the hyperactive bird. Interestingly, many users have shared how the energetic emu simply has a case of the “zoomies“, which happens when an emu is super happy and excited.
This is so funny because emus do these zoomies when they are very happy, so this bird is having the time of his life while terrorising the children 💀

In response, another Redditor chimed in:
Yeah, I’m cheering on that happy bird. This might the greatest video I’ve seen this year.

I’m going to strive to be as happy as this bird – what a life.

Thankfully, from the looks of things, no children or animals were harmed in the ruckus, which is the most important thing of all, of course. That being said, we wouldn’t be too surprised if some of the children in the video grow up to have an aversion to birds.
