Elon Musk is not escaping the ridicule from his infamous Nazi salute — at least not anytime soon! The tech billionaire made headlines for his controversial gesture at Donald Trump’s inauguration rally in January. Almost two months later, and the world still hasn’t forgotten.
Earlier this week, a perfume advert mocking Musk’s Nazi salute popped up at the London underground. A photo of the poster surfaced on Reddit, showing the entrepreneur striking the infamous pose. Next to the Tesla CEO, who donned a suit and grey shirt, was an amber perfume bottle with a gold Swastika design. Across the photo was the write up, “Elon’s Musk Parfume De 1939 Pour Wankers.”
The Reddit post soon made the rounds, catching the attention of fans. Many commended the ad while slamming Musk all over again for the Salute. One fan commented, “Guerilla art is my favorite form of protest,” while another user expressed:
“I think it’s interesting how any satire about these people almost falls flat because regardless of how crazy, stupid, and absurd you make the fiction, it’s still kinda level with reality.”
A third comment read, “Lol, he’s never going to live that down, and now we know it bothers him. Keep it up.” This fourth commenter suggested “Anal Musk” a nickname for the billionaire.
Another user opined that the businessman was fully aware of his actions. “The best thing about these kinds of activist ads is that they barely need to be edited to make a point,” the comment read. “Elon did a very clear Nazi statue and he even added that disgusting strain on his face (plus sound). What you see is what you get.”
Elon Musk Slams Nazi Salute backlash As ‘Dirty Tricks’
This is not the first time the infamous salute has featured in an ad. Last month, an ad popped up in Bethnal Green, London, discouraging people from buying Tesla cars in protest of Musk. Per Euro news, the poster showed the tech mogul in a Tesla renamed as the “Swasticar” making the salute with a caption that read, “Goes from 0 to 1939 in 3 seconds.”
However, while the rest of the world continues to criticize the gesture, the Space X founder doesn’t think he did anything wrong. He maintained his innocence, taking to his platform X to slam critics after the inauguration. Musk retweeted a post insinuating that criticism of the salute was an agenda of the Democrats.
The post from The Rabbit Hole showed a screenshot of an old tweet from the Tech mogul explaining that he voted for Republicans and not Democrats like he used to. Musk then predicted that since he is now for the Republicans, the Democrats would come after him with their “dirty tricks campaign.” The Tesla CEO quoted the tweet: “Frankly, they need better dirty tricks. The ‘everyone is Hitler’ attack is so tired.”
Elon Musk might feel “tired” about the attack, but the rest of the world has no intention of stopping anytime soon.
