Hoda Kotb has expressed her desire to see Kelly Rowland back on the Today Show. According to reports, the singer was expected to appear as a guest co-host on Friday during the 8 AM hour of the show. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned due to an issue with the dressing room. The behind-the-scenes mishap caused Rowland to storm out at the 11th hour, leaving the veteran Kotb scurrying to find a replacement. But despite everything that happened, the misunderstanding won’t create any rift between Hoda Kotb and Kelly Rowland. The journalist is ready to forgive and forget and would like Rowland to return.
Kelly Rowland Walks Out of the Today Show
Hoda Kotb and Kelly Rowland have had a great relationship for years, and no misunderstanding is changing that. On Friday, the pair were expected to carry out co-hosting duties on the Today show. However, things didn’t go according to plan. According to reports, Rowland and her team didn’t like the dressing room the crew gave the singer. The Destiny’s Child alum reportedly requested a green room on another floor, but Jennifer Lopez already occupied it. Sources revealed that the show then offered Rowland several other options, but she claimed they weren’t up to par.
As a result, the singer and her team walked out of the show at the last minute, leaving Kotb stranded. But thankfully, Rita Ora, who was there to promote the new season of The Masked Singer, volunteered and filled in for Rowland. According to reports, many outside and inside the show were impressed with how great Ora was.
Hoda Kotb Wants Kelly Rowland Back on the Today Show
Amid the mishap, Kotb has revealed she is more than willing and happy to have Kelly Rowland back on the Today show. The broadcaster extended an invitation to the actress on Today with Hoda & Jenna on Tuesday.
“I just wanna say this, I have great love and admiration for Kelly Rowland. I adore her and I want her to come back on our show, and I want her to host again,” Kotb said.
She added that the 43-year-old could share her dressing room, noting that they’d be in it together. Co-host Bush Hager couldn’t agree more, as she said Rowland was welcome anytime. She also recalled the first time the actress was a guest on their show and how both she and Kotb wanted Rowland to host with them. Besides inviting the star back to the show, Kotb didn’t fail to thank Ora for the impromptu substitution and for doing a phenomenal job.
