Getting to duel other students in Hogwarts Legacy is a fantasy fulfilled, but you first need to know how to find the Crossed Wand Dueling Club, if you’d like to sling spells with others. One other thing: we’re not exactly following the rules. Professors wouldn’t approve of the Crossed Wand Dueling Club, so can you keep it a secret? The club isn’t hard to find, as a matter of fact. You’ll never even leave Hogwarts!
How to Start Crossed Wand Dueling Club Quest in Hogwarts Legacy
[Updated September 26, 2024 – Rewritten for clarity and context.]
If you’re just tuning into Hogwarts Legacy, you’ll actually cross paths with the Crossed Wand Dueling Club during the main story mission. Specifically, it’s during your very first Defense Against the Dark Arts class that you’ll be tipped off on the unsanctioned duels.
You’ll automatically get the quest ‘Defense Against The Dark Arts Class’ right after the quest Welcome to Hogwarts. At the same time, you’ll receive the ‘Charms Class’ quest, too. It isn’t a prerequisite to complete Charms Class.
During the quest, you’ll have to duel Sebastian Sallow, a student from the Slytherin House. After the duel, that’s when Sebastian breaks the question: Do you want to duel other students?
Your next stop is at the Clock Tower Courtyard, where the Crossed Wand Dueling Club secretly meets. To get there, either take the Floo Flames to Clock Tower Courtyard or take the exit out of Hogwarts that leads to the large bridge outside. The club hangs out right at the exit.
In the Clock Tower Courtyard, you’re looking for Lucan Brattleby. He’s got short, curly hair that’s nearly black and wearing Gryffindor clothes. Lucan’s also standing in a corner with a bunch of ogre and goblin armor.
When speaking with Lucan Brattleby, take up his offer to practice. It’ll give you the time you need to get the hang of fighting and breaking shields in Hogwarts Legacy. At any rate, note that you’ll have to fight in the Crossed Wand Dueling Club and win at least two rounds, as per Professor Hecat’s Assignment 1.
