Despite spending several years at your home, it is normal to find something you didn’t know was part of it. However, there are also situations where you can find something completely unexpected, and even a bit creepy. That is precisely what happened to a homeowner recently. After looking for their cat around the house, they discovered something terrifying in their basement’s ceiling, and that was a huge knife with one of the most disturbing notes one could ever find.
Reddit user AdLeading3583 decided to share a couple of pictures on the r/Weird subreddit, and fittingly so. In the post, they mention how, in the process of looking for their cat, they came across a note and a huge knife inside their basement’s ceiling.
As you can clearly see in the second picture, the knife is a bit bigger than the envelope, which is already considered big in knife standards, but the really shocking part comes from reading the note. The envelope reads: “I love you. You’re very beautiful. PS. Nice window.” And all of it is signed by one Randal.
Naturally, this was more than enough to scare the homeowner, who quickly decided to share their strange and extremely disturbing discovery on Reddit. Initially, many focused on the cat, asking if they had found it, and it seems the cat is fine. However, as they shared more pictures and talked about the situation, they started asking for advice. Fortunately, many recommended they should do the only expected thing: report this.
Reddit Users Urge OP to Report the Note and Knife
Several Redditors, after seeing the knife and note situation, quickly encouraged OP to do something about it, with the majority leaning toward making a proper police report.
“I’d report it, just to be safe. Stay safe.“
“Pack your bags and settle down on the other side of the world.”
A few also told them to talk to the neighbors, as they might know if something happened before the current homeowner moved in.
“I would at least ask if anything bad happened at your address in the past. Do a search online for your address and/or the previous few owners. You can find their names in the county records (US).“
And while some saw this as probably a prank from the previous owners and maybe left it there to purposely spook the new residents, it is still a disturbing discovery and one that should not go unnoticed.
