The HoYoverse games have some imbalances between the characters that the devs are adding. For example, some of the complaints are the lack of male characters, there are no boy models. It is a reality that it is difficult for companies to keep all fans happy. Although Honkai Star Rail already announced more Remembrance characters a few weeks before its arrival, when in the last year, there was only one Preservation character. It seems that HoYoverse is forgetting about tankers and shielders for our Trailblazers.
It’s normal that Remembrance suddenly becomes popular among the new characters in the game, as this is a new path. The devs, of course, want to show off new kits and innovative mechanics with the pets that these characters can summon. However, looking at the latest banners, only since the release of Amphoreus in Honkai Star Rail, there are already three Remembrance characters announced. Such is the case of Castorice, who just got her official introduction as an upcoming Remembrance Quantum character. And who knows how many more will come in future versions, at least only in Amphoreus during the 3.x patches.
Since the release of the game, only five Preservation characters have debuted so far: Trailblazer (Fire), March 7th (Ice), and Gepard only in the first patch. Then, Fu Xuan debuted in September 2023, and the last shielder was Aventurine, who first appeared in the April 2024 banners.
So, the accelerated pace at which the developers create new Remembrance characters could quickly turn the Preservation path into the path with the fewest characters. Besides, we can’t forget that, except for Remembrance, the rest of the paths have been around for almost two years. The following path with fewer characters would be the Abundance path, but it still has seven playable characters. Hopefully, we can see more shielders in Honkai Star Rail in future versions, but please don’t make it more than Imaginary.
