Hot on the heels of the Special Program announcement for version 1.5, Honkai: Star Rail has revealed the drip marketing of three new characters that might arrive with version 1.6. Nothing has been confirmed when they’ll be released, but if history has taught us anything, these characters are close. Two showed up briefly in previous moments of the game’s story and limited-time events. However, one is completely new, and we only knew about him through past leaks. So, it’s finally nice to see these characters take the spotlight for future versions.
Honkai: Star Rail 1.6 Drip Marketing Reveals Ruan Mei, Dr. Ratio, and Xueyi
Of the three characters, Ruan Mei and Xueyi are the ones people will recognize the most. The former has played a huge role in the Simulated Universe and is showing up more in the latest Planar event. Xueyi, on the other hand, showed up briefly during the Xianzhou’s first quest, where players took control of Dan Heng. The big mystery here is Dr. Ratio, who, until now, we didn’t know much about him. Yes, his name appeared in some leaks, but we had no idea where he’d hail from or what his role in the story would be.
From the official drip marketing for Honkai: Star Rail, we can see the following elements and paths:
- Ruan Mei: Ice/Path of Harmony
- Dr. Ratio: Imaginary/Path of the Hunt
- Xueyi: Quantum/Path of Destruction
All these combinations are new and exciting. While Imbibitor Lunae is the best Imaginary DPS, it’ll be nice to have a single-target DPS such as Dr. Ration. On the other hand, it’ll be nice to see a buffer with the Ice element, which is what Ruan Mei is. And if that wasn’t enough, we’re finally getting a Quantum character who follows the Path of Destruction.
Overall, Honkai: Star Rail seems to be bringing some amazing characters, as always, and we can’t wait to see their official announcement. Our money is on version 1.6, but let’s not jump the gun before HoYoverse confirms the information.
