With Sparkle’s debut in Honkai Star Rail Version 2.0, her newest character demo had its release date just two days before its arrival. Only in the early stages of Penacony can players meet Sparkle. But her screen time is limited, and her appearance is only superficial at the end of the Trailblaze Mission. So this new video with Sparkle as the main character helps to better understand her aspirations or personality, even if only a little. But many were not at all expecting how eccentric she could be.

Some people have fallen in love with Sparkle since her first official images or the Penacony trailers appeared. But in this character demo, we see an ordinary teenage girl in a futuristic China until we see that she dedicates herself to the theater, giving life to Sparkle’s character. The teaser is very reminiscent of Nahida’s demo due to the structure of its narration. In each performance, she becomes more involved in her avatar on stage, repeating the cycle until the video reveals she doesn’t even know who she is. Or, according to others, Sparkle may have always been the girl’s true self, and only when she wears her mask does it come to light.
Some users pointed out an important difference between the Japanese, Chinese, and English character demos because of Sparkle’s VAs’ different tones. Although they all do an excellent job of showing the character’s craziness, it is more subtle in Japanese and English. Other fans claim that there is tonal variation in Chinese, making Sparkle look more twisted. Also, because of the Chinese demo, users believe that Sparkle could be related to the disappearance of the Annihilation Gang at the beginning of Penacony’s story. But there is still much more to see from this great actress.
