A woman in Houston is urging others to stay alert after she noticed a strange man trailing her during a morning walk at Memorial Hermann Park. In a TikTok video, she explained that she was on the phone with her mother and had left only one earbud in to stay aware of her surroundings.
Among the usual walkers, one man stood out to her because he was wearing jeans and slide sandals instead of workout clothes. It didn’t seem alarming at first, until she sensed he was slowly closing the distance behind her, as if he believed she was too distracted to notice.
Worried about getting “snatched by somebody,” she quickly ended the call with her mom and decided to change her route. Rather than continue on the trail, she moved into the street where cars were passing and waved down a Metro Lift driver. “Please, can you just watch me as I walk to my car? An unknown man [is] following me and it just seems like he’s up to no good,” she recalled asking the driver. The young man agreed and followed her until she safely reached her car.
The woman also added that the driver even confirmed that the strange guy had indeed been watching her. “Ladies, please be careful,” she said. “If you’re going to exercise, try to go with someone or use an indoor gym. Stay aware of your surroundings.”
