A group of animal activists was arrested after breaking into a beagle breeding facility in Blue Mounds, Wisconsin, in what they described as an effort to rescue dogs used for biomedical research. Videos of the incident have since circulated online, showing activists carrying dogs out of the building while others documented the operation.

The activists, who say they are part of the Coalition to Save the Ridglan Dogs, claim they removed dozens of beagles from the Ridglan Farms facility during the operation.

In footage shared online, several activists can be seen exiting the Wisconsin breeding facility while carrying beagles in their arms. Most appear to be wearing similar white outfits, while others record the scene on cameras.

The video also shows rows of cages inside the building as the person filming walks through the facility. Meanwhile, other activists are seen quickly leaving the building while holding dogs.

According to reports shared alongside the video, police eventually stopped two vans carrying some of the dogs and arrested several activists involved in the operation.

Authorities also recovered some of the animals and returned them to the facility. However, activists claim that 22 of the beagles were not recovered following the incident.

During the operation, activists also alleged that a man believed to be associated with the breeding facility attempted to drive a truck toward them. They further claimed that the same individual later slashed the tires of a vehicle used during the operation. Those claims have circulated online but have not been independently confirmed in the video itself.

Internet Reacts to Wisconsin Beagle Rescue

After the footage began spreading online, many users expressed support for the activists and criticized the use of dogs in biomedical research.

One commenter said they lived near the Wisconsin facility and claimed the location had previously faced legal issues.

“They’ve been sued and hit with multiple tickets, and they still continue to operate,” the user wrote.

Some viewers also questioned why beagles are frequently used in laboratory research.

“How come it’s always beagles when it comes to animal testing?” one commenter asked.

Others replied that the breed is often chosen for its temperament and ability to remain calm in controlled environments.

The incident has sparked renewed online debate about animal testing and the ethics of research facilities that breed animals for scientific studies.
