Night City is the kind of place you can spend a lifetime, assuming you don’t get bumped off by Arasaka or a ganger looking to make a name for themselves. Even before the Phantom Liberty expansion, Cyberpunk 2077 was a sprawling game with a ton to do. Even if you just wanted to complete the main story, you were in for quite the haul. Add to that boxing, collecting legendary items, and taking down cyberpsychos, and you could be here for a while. A lot of CD Projekt Red love has gone into fixing up (and expanding) this dystopian tale, but how long does Cyberpunk 2077 take to beat?
Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty Game Length
(Updated on August 28, 2024 – updated intro, images, and links)
Cyberpunk 2077‘s length depends on how you play. There’s plenty to do in the neon-drenched Night City. As good as it is, the main story is only the tip of the iceberg. You can spend far more time on side activities, and if you’re aiming for a completionist run, that’s exactly what you’ll need to do. It takes around 25 hours to beat Cyberpunk 2077 if you’re just focused on the main quest.
It’s common for players to end up distracted by side quests, exploration, or both, however. That adds a ton to the playtime, even if you aren’t aiming to do everything. If you aren’t rushing through the story, the game will take between 45 to 60 hours to complete with some side content. A completionist run takes closer to 100 hours.
How Long Is Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty?
The Phantom Liberty DLC contains some of Cyberpunk 2077‘s best moments. From its slippery spy story to the rotting wonderland of Dog Town, there’s an absurd amount of quality content here. It’s no Infinite Wealth, but you won’t find a shortage of activities. Phantom Liberty adds about 15 to 20 hours if you focus on the main missions. If you want to 100% the expansion, you’re looking at closer to 30 hours for a completionist run. Maybe that’s long enough for us to finally impress Johnny Silverhand.
