It’s technically easy to put waypoints in Ark Survival Ascended, but it’s made unclear due to the game’s poor UI design. To put a marker on your map all you have to do is hit the “M” twice.
This will open your map’s advanced version, which allows you to place waypoints. Another way to do this is to go into your Inventory and go to the Map section at the top. Then double-click on the desired location and the add waypoint screen will open.
Here you can choose the icon, color, and name for your marker in Ark Survival Ascended. If you want to delete a waypoint, open the advanced map again, click on the “Waypoints” button at the bottom left, and click on the trash can sign next to the marker you want to delete.
