It seems like every Pokemon game has its appointed Dragon-type user. In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk, that trainer is Blueberry Elite Four challenger Drayton. Like all the other Dragon users before him, he’s no pushover, which could be a problem when the time comes to face him. This is especially so for the Terarium-Only Battles that are a part of his Elite Trial. Let’s dive into how to bear the Drayton Elite Trial in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk.
Drayton Elite Trial in The Indigo Disk Battle Strategy
If you want to beat Drayton’s Elite Trial in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk, you need to be prepared. It is one of the harder ones you’ll do. This is because the rules of the trial are:
- You can only use Pokemon that you caught within the Terarium.
- You can only use Pokemon that you caught yourself.
- You may not use your regular team from the Paldea or Kitakami regions.
Best Team for the Trial
The team that you’re going to want to put together for Drayton’s Elite Trial are:
- Farigiraf Lv. 100
- Ability – Armor Tail
- Held Item – Choice Specs
- Nature – Modest (+Sp. Atk, -Atk)
- Moves – Hyper Voice, Psyschock, Energy Ball, and Dazzling Gleam
- Whimsicott Lv. 100
- Ability – Prankster
- Held Item – Focus Sash
- Nature – Timid (+Spe, -Atk)
- Moves – Energy Ball, Moonblast, Tailwind, and Helping Hand
Tips for Battling the Students in the Trial
The following is everything you need to know about the students that you’ll be battling as part of the trial:
- Craig the Student
- Bastiodon Lv. 68
- Rampardos Lv. 68
- Target Bastiodon with both Pokemon’s Energy Balls.
- Winter the Student
- Alolan Sandslash Lv. 68
- Dewgong Lv. 68
- Use Farigiraf’s Hyper Voice because even if the Alolan Sandslash resists, it should still get knocked out. You should also use Whimsicott’s Helping Hand.
- Ray the Student
- Magnezone Lv. 68
- Zebstrika Lv. 68
- You’ll also want to use Farigiraf’s Hyper Voice, but pair it with Whimsicott’s Tailwind instead. This will allow you to easily KO the others with two hits.
The biggest thing to know is that you only really have a chance at succeeding if your two Pokemon are at Level 100. Otherwise, you might be there for a while.
