Do you want to know how to catch the Dunkleosteus in Dave The Diver? Dunkleosteus is a Rank 9 ancient fish that can be spotted in the Hydrothermal Vents area. This fish is pretty tough to catch thanks to its armored head and agility. After a barrage of ram attacks, it can quickly turn and continue harassing you, leaving barely any window to do a counterattack even with an upgraded Harpoon. Do not worry, because this Dave The Diver guide will help you master the way of catching a Dunkleosteus.

If you want to catch a Dunkleosteus in Dave The Diver, then you will have to shoot a Tranq Dart at its belly. Some players will claim that shooting at its back and under the tail might work, but honestly, the fish’s hitbox is pretty wonky. Sometimes targeting its back will work, sometimes it won’t. So the most reliable method to catch it is by attacking its soft underbelly. Dunkleosteus’s face is a huge no-no because it is armored and will deflect all your shots.

First, you have to make sure that you already own the upgraded Tranq Dart. Head to the Hydrothermal Vents and look for the fish. Once aggroed, you have to learn its attack pattern. Usually, the Dunkleosteus does a short ram as an opening. And then it will be followed by a long straight ram. When it does its second attack, you will have to quickly dive under it and fire Tranq Darts twice at its stomach. Learn how to properly space and dodge quickly in order to smoothly catch Dunkleosteus in Dave The Diver.

Otherwise, you can try using Sticky Bomb Gun and stick an explosive to another fish. If it’s possible, bait a nearby aggressive fish so it comes near the Dunkleosteus. Then shoot it with a Tranq Grenade, the area-of-effect explosion should incapacitate your target as well. You can also use the Dave Doll to attract its attention and give you ample opportunity to attack its underbelly. Don’t forget that you need Salvage Drone to catch large fish such as the Dunkleosteus in Dave The Diver. Check out The Nerd Stash’s front page for more guides on your favorite PC and console games.
