While the character creation options in Warhammer 40K: Darktide can be less appealing to some in the cosmetic department, it’s hard to argue that what’s offered doesn’t fit the bill of a fierce Reject. After all, while the game is in first-person for you, it’s vital to look stylish for your teammates as you gruesomely hack down hordes of Poxwalkers. Nevertheless, seeing yourself in the third person in the hub area or queue screen might compel you to change your appearance in Darktide. Whether a minor tweak or a full-on cosmetic overhaul, post-tutorial customization is available to you in the Mourningstar.

How to Re-Access Darktide Character Creation

To change your appearance in Warhammer 40K: Darktide after the initial character creation screen, visit Krall, the Barber-Chirurgeon on the Mourningstar. Finding him is extremely easy:

  1. After spawning in the main hall, head to the passageway with all the hub shops.
  2. Take a left and continue walking until you reach the Commissary.
  3. Turn left again, head through the open doorway, and speak to the NPC with the scissors icon, Krall.

The Barber-Chirurgeon will change your Reject’s appearance at no cost. Previously, during the beta and early stages after release, some players guessed reaccessing Darktide‘s character creation would eventually cost currency. While the premium currency of Aquilas has given players a headache in the past due to some in-game purchases, changing one’s appearance is fortunately not one of them.

Of course, note that Krall’s services are limited to particular aspects of your body. For instance, changing your body type, voice, or height is impossible. This is somewhat odd as the Barber-Chirurgeon does mention in passive dialogue that he’ll try to keep your legs the same length. Nevertheless, you still have enough options at your disposal to give yourself a completely new look.
