In multiplayer games like Apex Legends, it’s natural to want to change your name. You might be haunted by the name of an account you created years, and years ago. Or you might have a new main character, and want to use a name that fits that Legend. Or perhaps you have decided to use a name that will be your signature for the rest of your life? Whatever the case may be, here we’ll explain how to change your name in Apex Legends.

How To Change Your Apex Legends Nickname

Since Apex Legends is not a game that exists on a single platform, the process of changing the name according to the platforms also differs. On platforms like Steam or Origin, you can change your nickname without any restrictions. However, on consoles like Xbox, there are restrictions on changing nicknames.

How To Change Your Apex Legends Name in Steam

1. First, open Steam and log in to your account.
2. Then enter your profile next to the Community tab.
3. Press the Edit Profile button under Steam Level.
4. Under the General section, you will see the Display Name box. Type your new Apex Legends name in this field.

How To Change Your Apex Legends Name in Origin

1. Log in to Origin with the account you want to rename Apex Legends.
2. Click on your account at the bottom left, and select EA Account and Billing.
3. Then press the Edit button next to the Basic Information heading.
4. You will then receive a confirmation code in your email, after confirming the confirmation code you can type your new Apex Legends nickname in the ID box.

How To Change Your Apex Legends Name in PS4 & PS5

1. Turn on your PlayStation and open Settings.
2. Then go to Account under Users and Accounts.
3.  Select Profile, and then Online ID from the Account section.
4. Then accept the agreement and you can change your Apex Legends nickname after logging back into your account.

However, after you do this, all devices will be logged out of your account, and you will need to log back in. You can also change your Online ID only 1 time for free on PlayStation.

How To Change Your Apex Legends Name in Xbox

1. First, to change your nickname, log in to Apex Legends, and press the Xbox Button.
2. Then click on your name in the Profile & Systems section and select My Profile.
3. After that select the Customize Profile option below.
4. Click on your Apex Legends nickname on the left side of the screen, enter your new Gamertag, and select Change Gamertag.
5. Now go to Electronic Arts’ site and log in to the account that your Apex Legends account is linked to.
6. Then go to Account Settings. Under Connected Accounts, press the Revoke Access button next to Xbox Live.
7. After doing this, log back into Apex Legends, and Relink your account.

Changing the Apex Legends name on Xbox is paid after the first time, just like on PlayStation.
