While exploring the dungeons in Act 2, you may find a strange item called the Sun or Kabala Clan Relic. When you pick up this quest object, the game will inform you to find a use for the relic. Unfortunately, the Ancient Vows quest objective doesn’t offer you much information in Path of Exile 2. You actually need to find another relic to make a full medallion. These two items can then be combined and give you a permanent buff.
How To Get Sun & Kabala Clan Relic
To complete the Ancient Vows quest, you must gather the Sun and Kabala Clan Relics in Path of Exile 2. Although these objects are quest items, they are random drops that you can find while exploring Keth and Bone Pits regions. These two are the new areas that you can explore after defeating Jamanra, the Risen King.
During my playthrough, I first obtained the Sun Clan Relic after defeating a regular group of mobs at Bone Pits. However, other players reported getting the Kabala Clan Relic here, so it seems the location isn’t fixed. Just keep exploring the regions and kill any enemies that you encounter. One of them will eventually drop the relics that you need.
How To Use the Relics in Path of Exile 2 Ancient Vows Quest
Once you have the Sun and Kabala Clan Relics, you need to head to the Valley of the Titans region. What you are looking for is another waypoint deep within this area. Usually, you can only find a waypoint at the beginning of the dungeon, but this second one will be placed near a large humanoid statue.
You can also find other large statues in this area, but they usually watch over ancient seals. I still recommend interacting with them to open the path to the next region. Once you find the waypoint and the pedestal, you can insert the two relics to complete the Ancient Vow quest.
Placing the two items lets you pick one of the two buffs available. Here are the options:
- 30 percent increased Charm Charges gained
- 15 percent Mana Recovery from Flasks
I picked the first option since I wasn’t struggling with Mana Recovery. If you don’t know, the effects of your charms aren’t always active. Besides having a trigger, you must consume some charges to activate the effect. You have 80 charges at maximum, and you can recharge them by killing enemies. The first buff allows you to gain more charges each time you kill an opponent.
Don’t worry; your decision is not permanent. If you decide that you want to change which buff you want, you just need to interact with the pedestal again. That’s why there is a waypoint near the statue, so you can visit this area whenever you want.
