The Black Box DMZ mission is a new objective added with Warzone 2 and MW2 Season 5 Reloaded update. This is a Tier 3 Shadow Company objective, tasking you to download data from the crashed plane’s black box in DMZ. Now, if you’re curious about where this black box actually is, we will provide you with the essential details and more below.

What Are The Objectives of the Black Box DMZ Mission?

  • Download the data from the crashed plane’s black box.
  • Kill 10 Konni enemy soldiers on the crashed site.
  • Extract in the same deployment.

To start the mission, you need to know where the crashed plane is located. Remember that part of the Al Mazrah map that reimagines Afghanistan from MW2 2009? If not, here’s the exact location of the area we’re looking for.

Head over to this location, and you’ll obviously find a crashed plane in DMZ. Next, go over to the pilot’s cabin and press the interact button. This act will start downloading data from the plane’s black box. The download won’t take long, and you’ll be able to finish the second objective while you’re around. It’s simple: just kill 10 Konni soldiers in this area, and you’re good to go.

Remember that only the Konni soldier kills count for the second objective of the Black Box DMZ mission. Konni soldiers are the ones that Makarov leads. In other words, they’re the Russian ultranationalists, and they speak Russian for sure. So if you heard them, shoot them.

After you’ve collected the data and killed enough Konni soldiers, it’s time to exfil. Tag the nearest exfil point, and get out of Al Mazrah before it’s too late. Your mission will be complete as soon as you exfil. Notably, completing the Black Box DMZ mission rewards you with a precious Skeleton Key, along with 10K worth of XP.
