You can complete so many DMZ missions in the game during Season 5. Some missions, such as Missile Transports, require you to go to various locations to complete them, while others, such as Thinning the Herd, just need you to kill some soldiers. However, this mission is a bit different. Because you have to rescue an NPC and bring them to the exfill location, so, let’s look at how to complete the Cutting It Close DMZ mission.
Completing Cutting It Close Mision in DMZ
You can complete the Cutting It Close DMZ mission by rescuing the hostage and bringing them to the exfill location. You can typically do this mission on any map. However, since this is a Shadow Company tier 2 mission and they are involved with the Konni soldiers, Vondel and Ashika Island might not be the best locations. So, your best map will be Al Mazrah.
You can do this mission solo or as a team. However, we recommend you do it as a team since you must wait for the exfill once you have picked up the hostage. Below are some tips for you to complete this mission quickly.
- It is best to try to find a helicopter to transport you since you can move to the final exfil location quickly once it appears on the map.
- Enemies will shoot the hostage, and if the hostage gets hit, you have to redo the mission. So, rescuing the hostage a few minutes before the exfill is the best way to quickly complete the Cutting It Close DMZ mission.
- Try to guess the final exfill point once you get into the match. For example, if you can determine the last exfill point captured from the radiation, you will be able to predict the following location.

- Start the Cutting It Close DMZ mission contract around one minute before the radiation spreads. This way, you will not have to wait much longer for the final exfill.
- If traveling from a truck, keep the hostage on the back. So, you have enough space to counter-attack if you meet enemies on your way to the exfill location. Also, it will protect the hostage from any incoming shots.
- You must drop the NPC to the exfill helicopter at the location and do not necessarily have to exfill yourself with it. Once it starts taking off, the mission will be completed.
Once you have completed the Cutting It Close DMZ mission, you will be rewarded Veterinarian Key and 7500 XP.
