After Henry and the group manage to steal the cannon, they are finally ready to attack Maleshov. Of course, it won’t be an easy task since they are fighting against Von Bergow. The Dancing With the Devil quest is not particularly long, but it contains a major choice in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. While Henry’s task is to defeat Von Bergow, it’s best not to forget his honor. Players should also prepare well, as they must win a long fight.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Dancing With the Devil Quest
The first objective in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Dancing With the Devil quest is to prepare yourself. Remember that you will enter a big battle during this mission, so wear your best armor and bring your best weapons. You should also carry various potions to help you during battles. Here are my recommendations:
- Aqua Vitalis
- Buck’s Blood
- Marigold Decoction
You may also want to bring a Nighthawk potion, which will allow you to see more easily at night. Since you’ll be sneaking around, you won’t be able to use your torch.
Should You Torch the Village?

Once you’re ready, you can speak with Zizka and start the meeting. You will need to help the Dry Devil create a distraction in the Dancing With the Devil quest. He will suggest torching the village and killing the townspeople. This is a major decision that will impact the ending you get in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
If you let the Dry Devil burn down the village, you will likely get the bad ending. You will be ordered to kill the villagers. Although horrible, this action will draw some of the soldiers out of Maleshov Castle, making the fight there much easier.
If you disagree, you must defeat the Dry Devil in a duel. Besides sparing the village, you will also earn the No Good Deed achievement. Unfortunately, this honorable act will make your battle at Maleshov a bit harder since more soldiers will be present.
How To Open the Gate in Dancing With the Devil Quest

Your next objective in the Dancing With the Devil quest is to open the Maleshov Castle gate from within. This stealth section is surprisingly short if you know what you’re doing. Although you can fight the enemies head-on, the best way to open the gate is by sneaking around.
After entering the castle, immediately head left and go down the stairs. You will see two guards standing behind the gate. Quickly move to the side of the gate and hide behind the rocks. Then, throw some rocks to draw the guards away. They will only be gone for a short time, so you must quickly open the gate before they return.
Unfortunately, the enemies still manage to raise the drawbridge. You will now need to hold your ground and survive until reinforcements arrive. Several waves of enemies will attack you, and later, you will also need to deal with archers above the wall. Eventually, your allies will use the cannon to destroy the drawbridge. This will trigger the final round of combat, where you must defeat the remaining soldiers.
Negotiate With Von Bergow

After defeating all the enemies, you can try to negotiate with Von Bergow. In a shocking twist of fate, you also see Rosa standing beside him in the Dancing With the Devil quest. She has been taken captive, and now it’s up to Henry to ensure her safety.
You will need to pass a skill check to make Von Bergow surrender willingly. I chose the option, ‘Ransom would be a solution for both parties.’ If you fail the skill check, you will need to enter the tower and defeat Von Bergow. There is also an option to set the tower on fire, but that will make Rosa angry with Henry.
