Dragons and the medieval era go hand in hand. While Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is very realistic, you can accept a quest called Dragon’s Lair. Apparently, someone saw dragon bones in the forest, and everyone believed that a living dragon would show up soon in KCD2. Of course, these are all just baseless rumors. Even so, the task of resolving this issue falls on Henry, and our helpful protagonist decides to assist the church.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Dragon’s Lair Quest Guide
You can start the Dragon’s Lair quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 by speaking with Monk Slava in Bylany. He’ll tell you to deliver a letter to the abbot near the city of Kuttenberg. If you’ve visited the area, you can fast travel to reach this location quickly. When you arrive, you’ll find the abbot talking with another man. After giving him the letter, the abbot orders Henry to find and destroy the dragon bones in KCD2.

Before heading back to Bylany, you can speak with Gerhart. The man obviously doesn’t want the dragon bones to be destroyed. He mentions that he’s sending other men to check out these legendary bones and warns you not to tarry any longer. Do note that if you’re too slow, Monk Slava could end up dead, or you might even lose the dragon bones.
After informing Monk Slava about the abbot’s order, you will encounter Gerhart’s men. They clearly have no good intentions. If you decide to stand up for Monk Slava, you’ll need to defeat the two thugs in a fistfight.
Once the area is safe, you can look for Woodcutter Vashek. The man is usually at the tavern during the day. Unfortunately, Gerhart’s men arrive first and beat up the poor guy. He is unwilling to talk further, so you need to persuade him. At this point, you have three choices in the Dragon’s Lair quest:
- Threaten him
- Persuade him
- Pay him (200 coins)

The best choice is to try to persuade Vashek. If you have 15 points in Speech, you can make him talk. Threatening him will also work, but it will lower your reputation. Paying Vashek 200 Groschen is another option, but you will lose money.
Vashek will describe the location of the dragon bones to Henry. Basically, you need to head west from the village. Before leaving, make sure you have a spade in your inventory. If you don’t have one, you can steal one from the village or buy one from a merchant.
Where To Find Dragon Bones in KCD2

To find the dragon bones in the Dragon’s Lair quest, you need to visit the woodcutter’s camp first. Afterward, the game will update the marked area. You can try to follow Vashek’s vague directions, or you can simply head to the marked location. Just follow the stream and head west. You’ll eventually enter an open clearing, and Henry will mention finally finding the bones.
If you’re too slow, you will encounter Gerhart’s men. This time, beating them up won’t be enough. You can try to intimidate them to avoid a fight, but if you fail, you’ll have to kill them. Once you obtain the dragon bones, you can either give them to Slava or Gerhart. If you give the bones to Slava, you’ll only raise your reputation. On the other hand, Gerhart will reward you with 275 Groschen.
If you’re really tight on money, you can give the bones to Gerhart at the end of the Dragon’s Lair quest. However, since the ending is affected by how honorable Henry is, siding with Gerhart might impact how Henry’s parents react. During my playthrough, I completely ignored Gerhart and just gave the bones to Slava.
