The sob stories and troubled souls in Phantom Liberty would be at home in any noir film. The Heaviest of Hearts mission is a prime example. Mr. Hands has a gig for V, and as usual in this DLC, it’s more complicated than it seems. Though the rewards aren’t amazing, the story is great, and you don’t need much of an excuse to explore Dogtown anyway. Heaviest of Hearts is designed as a stealth mission, but silence and discretion are optional. If things go wrong or you just prefer to go in guns blazing, you’re free to shoot your way through. Here’s everything you need to know about how to beat Heaviest of Hearts in Phantom Liberty.
Meet Your Client To Begin Heaviest of Hearts
Mr. Hands gives you this gig on behalf of Michael Maldonado. Michael is a father with a problem. His son Eric has gotten on the wrong side of Georgina Zembinsky, a local D.A. Georgina wants to leverage information Eric has against a local gangster, and now Eric and Michael are caught in the middle. Michael wants you to talk to Georgina and convince her to take the pressure off his son. Michael reveals that Georgina and Hank, her henchman, threatened him into giving evidence against his son, so Michael has another stake in this.
Talk to the Bartender and Jack
Appropriately for a quest called Heaviest of Hearts, Georgina is somewhere inside the Heavy Hearts Club, so make your way there. Once you’re inside the club, you’ll need to talk to the bartender to get information on the D.A.’s whereabouts. The bartender doesn’t know where Georgina is, but she knows someone who does: Jack. Jack can be found making illegal sales in the club’s bathroom. Approach him and ask for the DA’s whereabouts. He’ll ask for eddies in exchange for the information, but the price is cheap. You don’t exactly need the best weapons to make money in Phantom Liberty, so feel free to pay.
Clear Hallway 1
Jack says you can find the D.A. in Booth 4 upstairs, talking to some friends, so that’s where you’ll need to go. When you approach the VIP area, you’ll see them tossing someone out. You can talk to him if you choose, but he’s not particularly helpful, so feel free to ignore him and head upstairs to continue Heaviest of Hearts.
Take Out the Cameras and Guards in Hallway 1
There are two guards and two cameras in Hallway 1 upstairs. They’ll sound the alarm if they spot you, so you’ll need to play this smart if you want to keep things quiet. Use quickhacks to disable the cameras, and then silently neutralize the guards before they notice you.
Take Out the Lounge Guards and Enter Booth 4
Booth 4 is in the middle of the lounge area beyond Hall 1, but getting to it unseen will take some work. There are two guards and a camera with line of sight of the door. Quickhack the TV on the wall opposite the bar to distract the guard there. Move quickly into the small room behind the bar and neutralize the guard there.
Neutralize the Second Guard and Camera
The second guard should still be distracted by the TV you hacked. Get behind them and take them out. There’s a security camera to the right of the door to Booth 4 (assuming you’re facing it). You’ll need to disable it to maintain your cover. When that’s done, you’re clear to enter Booth 4 and proceed with Heaviest of Hearts.
Talk to the Attorney
Georgina isn’t inside Booth 4 anymore, but several of the D.A.’s friends are. Assuming you’ve kept things quiet, they’ll keep partying, none the wiser. Amongst them is an attorney who you can question about the D.A.’s whereabouts. Tell the attorney you have information on a case that you need to give to Georgina, and he’ll tell you where she is: Booth 6. You’ll need to get there to wrap up Heaviest of Hearts.
Clear Hallway 2
There are two more guards on the other side of the lounge area and a third in the Hallway 2 beyond that. Quickhack the soda machine as a distraction, then take out the guard on the couch while the other lounge guard investigates. Now take the second lounge guard out. That just leaves the guard in Hallway 2, as well as one last camera. Take them both out and head down the hall to Booth 6.
Enter Booth 6
Booth 6 is locked, but if you have Technical Ability 20 you can just hack your way in. Otherwise, follow Hallway 2 around the corner and go through the door. You’ll see a guard standing by a fusebox on the wall. Neutralize him and use the fusebox to disable the security on the back door to Booth 6. Now you can head inside and confront the D.A. and her muscle, Hank.
Confront Georgina and Hank
When you confront Georgina she’ll tell you her side of the story. According to her, Michael never really cared about his son and was only too happy to accept payment for his testimony. She has a video to back up her story, but whether you believe this questionable evidence is up to you.
Believe Michael or Georgina To Complete Heaviest of Hearts
If you accept her story, you’ll upset Mr. Hands and Michael, but they’ll still pay you. Clients in Phantom Liberty can’t be that picky, it seems. If you refuse to believe her, Hank will threaten you. If you have Body 6 or more, you can intimidate him into standing down. Otherwise, you’ll have to neutralize him. Either way, go see Michael after you’re done in Booth 6 to collect your payment and complete Heaviest of Hearts.
