Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty – Shot by Both Sides Walkthrough
So, after you receive a call from Mr. Hands regarding the details of the mission, the first thing you will need to do is get to Bree’s apartment. It is located in the Wellsprings sub-district of Heywood. It’s outside of Dogtown, and to get there, you can use the Berkley & Bay fast travel point and follow the quest marker.
When you come to the required building, head to the elevator and go up to the 5th floor. Upon arrival, you will notice that the door to the apartment is closed, and there are 2 options you can use:
- Body: You can open the door manually, using your strength, if this attribute is at least 3 points.
- Technical Ability: An alternative method, but now you just hack the door to unlock the passage. This attribute must be upgraded by at least 3 points.
Regardless of which method you choose, the next task is to find an access card. To achieve this, carefully explore the apartment and find the Bamboo growing in a flowerpot to the left of the computer in the bedroom. Scan it, and you will open the access card. Inform Mr. Hands about the task, and he will give you the coordinates of the next location in Dogtown. After you leave Bree’s apartment, a stranger, who turns out to be the journalist’s neighbor, will talk to you and ask some questions. After talking to him, you can move on.
Find Bree
The coordinates that Mr. Hands gave you will lead you to the underground tunnels, practically near where you live, so here are the steps you’ll need to take:
- Follow the quest marker, and soon, you will notice a double door, which will turn out to be an elevator.
- Use it to get to the lower level.
- Once you exit the elevator, head towards the quest marker to scan the area for any traces.
- From where you are, turn left and explore the area to see the red light.
- As you get closer, you will come across a tunnel with a red light. Follow it until you reach the other end.
- When you do, you’ll notice a truck and a track next to it, so move to the right until you see a hole in the wall.
- Once you find this large hole, you will need to enter it.
- Once you’re in another room with collapsed walls, find a passage at ground level that you can go through.
- Enter the passage, and as soon as you do, you will find Bree, who will immediately put a gun to your head.
Once you find Bree, you’ll need to show her the access card you found in her apartment to calm her down. After a short conversation, you both need to avoid several corridors filled with cameras and turrets. Use your cyberdeck to quickhack and deactivate the equipment until you reach the main room, which has a bunch of lasers and other obstacles. To disable the security system, you’ll need to sneak into the control room, which requires Body (10) or Technical Ability (10) to open the door.

Once you disable the security systems, the last thing Bree will ask you to do is help her get into the mainframe room and find 3 videos in the system that prove Militech is using rogue AI for its own purposes.
Save Bree from Dante
As soon as you watch the last video, Bree’s neighbor will enter the room. This is a really unexpected plot twist because, as it turns out, he wants to kill her to stop her plans. Dante, the name of her neighbor, will put you in a really difficult situation, and after a few dialogues, you will need to choose whether to save Bree or let her die.
Your task will be to save her, and almost all dialog options lead to this. So, regardless of what Dante says, take out your weapon and kill him to save Bree and complete the mission. In addition, you can get 2 weapons:
- Riskit: If you let Bree die, then you can loot this weapon from her corpse. Otherwise, you will find it on the table after you rescue the journalist.
- Ol’ Reliable: You can get it from Dante’s corpse if you kill him.
Congratulations! Now, you should be able to complete Shot by Both Sides in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty without any difficulties.
