Take a Hint is a side quest in My Time at Sandrock that deals with Owen and Grace after a kitchen accident. Both Owen and Grace know the accident cost a lot of money, and they each want to take responsibility. Grace asks you a series of questions, and your responses determine whether you complete or fail the quest. Take a Hint appears the day after your relationship with Owen reaches Associate status. Head outside the Blue Moon Saloon during the day to see Yan and Owen talking. This is your only chance to start the quest; it won’t show up again if you don’t approach the two. A scene will play as you arrive, describing the payment details.

Owen discusses Grace’s involvement in the accident and how she wants to take responsibility. Your role is to go along with Owen’s story and downplay the events to prevent Grace from paying for everything. Head to the Blue Moon Saloon’s kitchen to find Grace and start talking to her after a scene.

Grace asks you some questions during the scene, with the first few questions having easy answers. When Grace inquires about the accident’s repair costs, Owen asks you to play along with his responses. The correct answers are:

  • It was cheap.
  • Yep, normal. I could do it, too!
  • Yeah, just a little more than usual.
  • Of course, Yan is a boss with a big heart!

These options get you the completion reward. Answering only three of the four choices also gets you the reward. It’s also possible to tell Grace the entire truth and gain a relationship bonus with the following options:

  • It was really expensive.
  • Mi-an only spent one night on this? That’s amazing!
  • We charge out the wazoo!
  • No flippin’ way.

This allows you to decide who pays, and the quest is completed. If you choose to lie with the following options:

  • It was 10 goals.
  • There’s no way I could be that fast…
  • I dunno, maybe it was… free?
  • I don’t really know…

You fail the quest as Grace detects you are lying and don’t get the reward.

Here’s a quick recap of what you must do:

  1. Become Associates with Owen

    The quest doesn’t appear otherwise.

  2. Find Owen and Yan talking outside the day after becoming Associates

This is your only chance to start the quest.

  3. Play along with Owen or tell Grace the truth

Either option completes the quest and gives you the reward.
