Season 4: Loot Reborn is more than just a revamp to itemization. In fact, we get to see the Iron Wolves come back and take center stage in Diablo 4. These honorable mercenaries have a long history shielding Sanctuary from demons and you learn as much as you dive into the season content. One of the earliest quests you’ll pick up in Diablo 4’s Loot Reborn is The Wooden Wolf, which tasks you with locating a few missing Iron Wolves.

In order to move forward with The Wooden Wolf quest in Diablo 4, you need to first unlock the first rank of the Wolf’s Honor board. If you’ve ever used the Hunter’s Acclaim Board, it functions the same way: you complete specific tasks, earn reputation, and unlock tiers. In this case, the best way to earn Wolf’s Honor is by participating in the Helltides.

Afterwards, you’ll earn Soudeh’s trust and can speak with her at the Iron Wolves Encampment. It’s located in Kehjistan, in the upper-right corner of the Ragged Coastline.

Soudeh the Anvil gives you a task: locate a missing caravan as well as two Iron Wolves, Shon and Ysad. Your search will start near Ked Bardu, so check your map for the marker. You’ll have to do a bit of searching within the zone, so what I do is start on the outside and work my way inwards. Keep an eye on your minimap; if you get close to the caravan, it’ll mark it on your map.

Surrounding the caravan are some cultists. Show them the error of their ways, then search for clues. You’ll find a handful of items you can interact with: a Deface Medallion, the corpse of an Iron Wolf, a hand-carved toy, and an unsent letter. In doing so, you’ll learn of a nearby cultist’s den, which is located a stone’s throw away from the caravan.

Head inside the hideout and reach the end of the tunnel. You’ll come across a gruesome scene as well as the corpse of the other missing Iron Wolf. Like before, there are items you can interact with, specifically:

  • A sacrificed Iron Wolf
  • Cultist’s sketch
  • Ritual blade
  • Caravan route map
  • And a letter home

With both Iron Wolves accounted for, you can return to Soudeh the Anvil and break the bad news to her.
